The GE OEC 9900 Elite is segmented into specialized imaging platforms tailored to specific clinical workflows:

General & Pain Management Platforms

• GSP (General Surgical Platform): Core mobile imaging framework with basic fluoroscopy and high-frequency generator capabilities.
• ESP (Expanded Surgical Platform): Expands on the GSP with advanced software additions, image enhancement tools, and extended storage.
• PM Care Platform (Pain Management): Built on the ESP framework, adding a 1,000-image storage capacity, zoom/roam capabilities, real-time image annotation, and dedicated measurement software. It supports a dynamic digital disk recording up to 15 fps (60 Hz) for a continuous 10-minute capture window.

Vascular & Cardiac Platforms

• Basic Vascular: Incorporates all PM Care features alongside real-time roadmapping, image re-registration, variable landmarking, and mask save/recall functions.
• Vascular MTS (Motion Tolerant Subtraction): Adds a specialized bolus chase profile, digital cine pulse mode up to 30 pulses/second, and a high-speed 30 fps dynamic digital disk.
• Cardiac Platform: Outfitted with a dedicated cardiac preset imaging profile, a single-leaf curved collimator, a three-pedal footswitch, and a Super "C" configuration (available on 9" I.I. setups only). The Super "C" design extends orbital rotation up to 145° and broadens the arc depth to 33" (838 mm) to handle complex oblique angulations.

Special Mechanical Configurations

• 9900 MD (Motorized Design): Provides motorized C-arm steering with a 9°/second lateral rotation speed. It includes a tableside Remote User Interface (RUI) for full mainframe control and image review, real-time C-arm angle displays, automatic contact/collision detection, and an upgraded active cooling system for the X-ray tube housing.

• Standard Fluoroscopy: Features a kVp range of 40–120 kVp, operating at 0.2–10 mA in normal mode and up to 20 mA in High Level Fluoro (HLF).
• Pulsed & HLF Modes: Supports pulse rates of 1, 2, 4, and 8 Hz with selectable pulse widths of 25ms or 50ms. Pulsed HLF mode raises the current limits up to 40 mA.
• Digital Spot Mode: Provides short, high-clarity exposures up to 75 mA with automatic termination and immediate image saving.
• PreView™ Collimation: Features an on-screen positioning indicator alongside an iris and a rotatable tungsten double-leaf collimator, enabling full adjustments without active radiation exposure.

Image Intensifier Options

Built-In Intel & Core Software

Image I.Q. Technology Suite: System processing utilizes Dynamic Range Management (DRM) to instantly smooth background noise while emphasizing surgical structures of interest. This is paired with Smart Window (which auto-balances brightness when collimating) and Smart Metal (which optimizes exposure parameters to prevent flare/washout when surgical hardware is introduced into the field).

• AutoTrak™ ABS: An automated brightness stabilization system that actively tracks anatomy anywhere inside the field boundaries, adjusting the kVp, mA, and camera gain to match body density.
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): Protects active data and imaging sets by supporting an orderly, safe software shutdown sequence in the event of a facility line power failure.
